Southern Crane Takes Delivery of First TADANO All-Terrain Crane
Southern Crane used a TADANO ATF 90G-4 to unload and set a 48,000-pound communication building.

This past month, operator Southern Crane took delivery of a new ATF 90G-4 TADANO America all-terrain crane. President Earl Johnson said the 168-feet main boom and 59-feet jib length combination was very attractive for his business, as it allows for quick setup and take-down, even in conditions where there is not a lot of room.

“I also talked with other TADANO owners who claimed the maintenance and dependability of the TADANO was second to none,” Johnson says.

Now that the ATF 90G-4 is in action, the Southern Crane team also appreciates this all-terrain’s eight-wheel drive, crab steer and the boom down control, which decreases the speed gradually when it gets close to maximum capacity. Johnson reported the ATF 90G-4 will be used for work on cellular towers, modular homes, HVAC and other daily taxi rental opportunities.

On the experience of operating the crane so far, Johnson says, “We really like the interior tilt controls and seat which give the operator very good visibility. This is the first TADANO we have ever purchased, and our team is very impressed with the features this crane has to offer.”
