Located in Springfield, Illinois, Scooter’s Lawn Care provides professional lawn care and maintenance services for homeowners and surrounding towns — from landscaping and lawn care to yard cleanup and snowplowing.

Increasingly tasked with larger yard-grading and landscaping tasks, the company needed a compact machine to improve job site productivity and efficiency, and reduce time spent on each job. In the past, Scooter’s Lawn Care leaned heavily on rental equipment or manual labor to complete the majority of the work. The company knew it wanted to invest in its own machine to save labor time and long-term costs.

Using industry events and trade shows to their advantage, the employees at Scooter’s Lawn Care demoed various units — including compact loaders and mini skid-steers — from different equipment manufacturers to make sure they invested in the machine ideally suited for their daily work. Ultimately, it was one specific job that sparked the decision. The company demoed a Ditch Witch mini skid-steer to help take out a residential aboveground pool. Due to the ease and efficiency of the job, the company decided to purchase a compact, construction-grade SK752 unit.

“We knew we needed a compact machine that could easily fit through a standard yard gate, and we needed versatility to help with a range of different landscaping jobs,” says Jacob Godar, owner of Scooter’s Lawn Care. “The SK752 accepts a range of attachments to tackle multiple jobs, and compact tractors don’t provide that type of versatility. With our mini skid-steer, we have saved significant time and labor. A job that would have taken a week in the past, now takes only two to three days to complete. The SK752 is helping our business tenfold.”

Scooter’s Lawn Care works directly with the Ditch Witch Sales dealership in Springfield, Illinois, on any service and support needs. “The Ditch Witch customer support was another selling point for us,” Godar says. “We have worked with various manufacturers for other equipment needs and demos, and we found the Ditch Witch dealership was much more responsive and clearly dedicated to prioritizing customer needs.”
