Makita has released a new 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Compact Recipro Saw, model XRJ01/Z. It’s the latest addition to Makita’s expanding 18V LXT Series, the world’s largest 18V lithium-ion cordless tool lineup with over 70 tools powered by one 18V LXT battery that reaches a full charge in only 30 minutes.
Efficient cutting, superior ergonomics
The new 18V Recipro Saw has a compact size, weighs only 3.9 pounds, and features an exclusive dual-position on/off switch that allows for either paddle or trigger switch operation. It is engineered for cutting PVC, copper pipe, and conduit, and is an ideal solution for plumbers and remodelers taking on applications in close-quarters.
“This new compact recipro saw is all about performance, efficiency and versatility,” said Mario Lopez, product manager, Cordless Tools. “With category-leading weight and a two-way grip, plumbers and remodelers can decide between a paddle switch or traditional trigger switch grip depending on the application for maximum versatility and convenience during the cut.”
Compact and versatile
The XRJ01/Z has a variable-speed motor with 0-3,000 strokes-per-minute and a 1/2-inch length stroke for efficient cutting. The “tool-less” blade change system allows for faster blade installation and removal for increased productivity. The dual-position on/off switch — exclusive to Makita — allows for either paddle switch or trigger switch operation. The compact size is engineered for convenient one-handed operation.
Additional features include a built-in LED light, electric brake, and a lock-off switch lock for added convenience. It is powered by the fast-charging Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery.
The XRJ01 is a kit and includes the tool, two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries and the ENERGY STAR qualified Rapid Optimum Charger, as well as a recipro saw blade, hex wrench and tool case. The XRJ01Z includes the tool only.
