Four new members elected to NTEA’s Generation Next Board

The National Truck Equipment Association’s Generation Next recently elected four new members to its Board of Governors: Melissa Bergkamp of Harper Industries/DewEze Manufacturing, Harper, Kansas; Ryan Middleton of Muncie Power Products, Muncie, Indiana; T.J. Miller of SuperSprings International, Carpinteria, California; and Daniel Sears of Drake-Scruggs Equipment, Springfield, Illinois. NTEA’s Generation Next gives new industry professionals a network of support for developing skills and building peer relationships in the work truck industry.



Talbert celebrates 80 years

Talbert Manufacturing marks its 80th year in business in 2018. The company was started by Austin Talbert in 1938 as a heavy haul, crane rental and construction equipment business in Lyons, Illinois. Today the company designs and builds its trailers at its facility in Rensselaer, Indiana, the same facility Talbert purchased in 1957 when he sold the rental and heavy-haul divisions to focus on trailer manufacturing.



Komatsu-owned dealers phasing out Wirtgen Products

Komatsu America announced an agreement with Wirtgen America to phase out the sale of Wirtgen products by Komatsu-owned dealers in the U.S.  The three Komatsu-owned dealers, Komatsu Northeast, Komatsu Southwest and Edward Ehrbar, are no longer authorized dealers of Wirtgen machinery after Sept. 30, 2018, and no longer authorized dealers of Wirtgen OEM parts, or a Wirtgen-authorized service center after March 31, 2019. Komatsu America and Wirtgen stated they are committed to ensuring that the transition is smooth and not disruptive to customers’ businesses.



Felling Trailers adds LeRoy Larson to sales team

Felling Trailers announced that LeRoy Larson joined the company as its OEM sales consultant. He has more than 20 years' related OEM sales and product support experience. Larson will manage Felling’s existing OEM accounts and will also assist in developing and improving the technical and marketing aspects of the company’s existing Power Gen and OEM product lines.



Wastequip closes acquisition by H.I.G. Capital

Wastequip announced the close of its acquisition by an affiliate of H.I.G Capital, a global private equity investment firm. As part of the deal, Wastequip has appointed Andreas Y. Gruson as chairman of its board of directors.

“Wastequip will benefit immensely from having a person of Andreas’ caliber to help shape the vision of our company,” said Marty Bryant, Wastequip CEO. “With him as our chairman of the board, I believe we are well positioned to execute on strategies to drive even greater sales and earnings through both organic growth and acquisitions.”
