Hyundai Construction Equipment recently held a virtual event marking the completion of its Technology Innovation Center in Ulsan, South Korea. The focus of the center is to serve as a place of quality innovation for the construction equipment market, and in the process strengthen Hyundai’s brand reliability.
“We should never compromise when it comes to our investments in quality innovation even during the recession. Instead, we should strive to make a sharp improvement in quality from the development stage so as to repay our clients for their trust,” says Kong Ki-young, CEO of Hyundai Construction Equipment.
A completion ceremony for the Technology Innovation Center, with Kong Ki-young and other executives and employees in attendance, was recently broadcast on YouTube for those who couldn’t attend.
Construction of the Technology Innovation Center started in September 2019 and wrapped up in October. The center accommodates 16 laboratories with some 100 research personnel to carry out quality research and verification from parts to finished equipment.
In particular, Hyundai Construction Equipment has established the integrated control system office, featuring cutting-edge information and communications technology to monitor the existing durability center in Gunsan, South Korea, and the laboratory and testing ground in the Technology Innovation Center and control all kinds of data comprehensively.
In addition, the reliability assessment building is equipped with a large environmental chamber that can check the performance of equipment in extreme environments, and has simulators and state-of-the-art testing and measurement equipment for conducting thorough preliminary checking and verification from the development stage.
Furthermore, various research will be conducted covering eco-friendly technology, high efficiency, noise reduction technology, and the need to deal with increasingly stricter gas exhaust regulations. The Technology Innovation Center is expected to become a cradle of advancement for construction equipment quality and technology.
