Hitachi Construction Machinery opens new regional headquarters
Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas opened a sustainable headquarters in Newnan, Georgia. Since taking the lead for the brand’s construction and mining equipment in the Americas, the company has more than tripled its employee count. Encompassing 88,128 square feet of office space and 27,686 square feet dedicated to conference, ConSite command center and training space, the headquarters has been designed to enhance creativity and inspire future growth. In addition to the new regional headquarters facility, Hitachi is also creating operating bases for parts remanufacturing and expansion of the rental business that will also provide the customer with additional support and options.


Summit Truck Equipment acquires Rival Hydrovac
Rival Hydrovac and G Force Signs and Graphics have been acquired by Summit Truck Equipment effective Feb 1. The location will be the same at 7690 Edgar Industrial Court, Red Deer, Alberta, with the same staff. The company will continue to be in full operation during the transition.


Volvo Construction Equipment to expand Collegiate Dream Team Program
Volvo Construction Equipment announced its partnership with the nonprofit Dream On 3 to become the national sponsor of the organization’s Collegiate Dream Team program. The two organizations have teamed up to bring the fast-growing Dream On 3 program to communities across the U.S. and Canada. For over 10 years, DO3 has granted sports-tied wishes for individuals with life-altering conditions, including mental health challenges and intellectual disabilities. The Collegiate Dream Team program, established in 2020, allows student leaders to rally behind an individual within their community living with a life-altering medical condition by making their sports dream a reality, within the framework of their school’s athletic culture. DO3’s exclusive curriculum-based program is designed to help students grow personally and professionally while giving them the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their community.


TT Technologies on Display at No-Dig 2024
TT Technologies will display a comprehensive lineup of trenchless equipment at the No-Dig Show 2024 in Providence, Rhode Island. Attendees will be able to see Grundoram pneumatic pipe rammers, Grundocrack pneumatic pipe bursting tools, Grundomat horizontal boring tools, Grundoburst static pipe bursting systems and the Grundopit pit-launched mini directional drill.

VMAC recently secured the registered trademark for its UNDERHOOD line of air compressor systems. This achievement further strengthens VMAC's brand identity and formally recognizes the unique design and functionality of the space-saving mobile air compressor. Renee Nutter receives NUCA’s We Dig America award
In recognition of her support of Dozer Days, the innovative program introducing utility construction careers to the Nation’s youth, the National Utility Contractors Association awarded Renee Nutter its top We Dig America award. As the founder of the Nutter Family Foundation, she is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families. The Nutter Family Foundation was founded by Jerry and Renee Nutter in 2008. To date, the Foundation has given back $2.2 million to the community in support of these unique and enjoyable events. The nonprofit focuses on the needs of children, believing that when children are allowed to develop their talents, society thrives.
Nutter and her sympathetic foundation have partnered in recent years with NUCA of Washington, NUCA of Eastern Washington and North Idaho, NUCA of Middle Tennessee, NUCA of Nebraska, and NUCA of the Greater Kansas City Region, among other industry organizations, to support and promote Dozer Days in their respective areas.


José Cuadrado appointed Global CEO of Yanmar Compact Equipment
Effective April 1, José Cuadrado will assume the role of global chief executive officer at Yanmar Compact Equipment, and chairman of the board at Yanmar Holdings Co. Cuadrado replaces Giuliano Parodi who, for the last six years, has led Yanmar CE, and who will be transferring to manage the Yanmar Group’s Strategy Division as chief strategy officer.
In a career spanning more than 25 years, Cuadrado brings a wealth of relevant construction, industrial and automotive experience, working at brands including Ingersoll Rand, Doosan and CNH Industrial. He joined Yanmar CE in early 2023, where he is managing director of the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. A search has begun for his replacement, and Cuadrado will combine both Global CEO and EMEA roles until his successor is appointed, from his current base in Europe.


Utility Expo announces new chair ahead of 2025 show
The Utility Expo announced Brian Metcalf, CEO of Ring-O-Matic, has been named show chair for the 2025 show. He will lead the exhibitions management committee, a volunteer group of utility construction industry executives for overall show planning.
Over 21,000 utility construction professionals from all 50 states, as well as 60 counties, attended the show in Louisville, Kentucky in 2023. Utility Expo returns to the Kentucky Exposition Center in October 2025.
