RF announces utility infrastructure platform investment
RJ Underground, a Kenosha, Wisconsin-based provider of horizontal directional drilling, hydroexcavation and specialty utility installation services, has received a new platform investment from RF Investment Partners. Founder and CEO Rich Johnston will continue to lead the company. With RF’s partnership, RJU plans to invest in its people, serve more customers, expand into new markets and pursue continued organic and mergers and acquisition growth. Founded in 1996, RJU provides specialized trenchless installation and maintenance services for critical water, sewer, gas, electrical and other utility infrastructure across Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana, serving municipal, utility, commercial and residential customers. RJU’s trenchless approach allows municipalities and utilities to install, replace and maintain critical underground infrastructure with minimal disruption to surrounding communities. The company has built strong momentum as investment in aging water and utility infrastructure continues to grow.
Multi Parts Solutions acquires HKX
Jupiter, Florida-based Multi Parts Solutions has acquired HKX, a Monroe, Washington-based manufacturer of auxiliary hydraulic kits and control-system solutions for excavators and other heavy equipment. The acquisition moves MPS into the construction equipment market and establishes HKX as its third operating division alongside ACC Heavy Duty (formerly American Chrome) for commercial vehicles and MPS Automotive for the automotive aftermarket. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. HKX, Hydraulic Kits for Excavators, has spent more than three decades building an engineering-centric business around install-ready kits that let machines run attachments such as breakers, thumbs, shears and rotating tools. For dealers, equipment owners and OEMs, the day-to-day experience with HKX will not change. Customers gain access to broader engineering resources for more types of components, a deeper bench for new product development and the support to keep both new and aging equipment productive.
Manitou North America announces new dealer in Virginia
Manitou North America has partnered with K&M Lawn, Garden and Arborist Supplies as a new dealer in Culpeper, Virginia. K&M will represent the GEHL brand, offering a full line of skid loaders, track loaders, articulated loaders and telescopic handlers.
Interlune and Vermeer expand strategic partnership
Interlune, a space infrastructure and resources company, and Vermeer, announced they will expand their strategic partnership to develop and deliver the critical infrastructure and services necessary for a permanent human presence on the moon. The expanded collaboration between the companies builds on a joint development agreement that led to the full-scale prototype of the Interlune excavator, which was unveiled in May 2025. The joint effort will focus on general civil engineering and infrastructure concepts to deliver the essentials required for a robust in-space economy, transforming harsh environments into a viable workspace for commercial and government missions.
