WJTA hires Micheal Johnson as first CEO
The WaterJet Technology Association announced the hiring of Micheal Johnson to serve as the association’s first chief executive officer. Starting in August, Johnson will lead the association in implementing a new strategic plan, executing new programs, growing the membership, and expanding into new markets. Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge from his 28-year history in the hydroblasting and industrial cleaning industry to the position, as well as an understanding of not-for-profit associations as a past contributor to industry groups including WJTA, Industry Business Roundtable, Sprint Robotics and more. The WJTA was formed over 40 years ago and advocates for safety and technology in waterjetting, industrial cleaning and industrial vacuum.
Parent company of Ditch Witch announces strategic moves
The Toro Company has completed the sale of the Trencor business and the auger boring product line of the American Augers business. These actions allow Ditch Witch and American Augers to strengthen its focus on horizontal directional drilling, a rapidly growing segment of the underground construction market supported by demand in the pipeline, water and energy transmission sectors. Under the Ditch Witch Division, American Augers will continue to design, manufacture and distribute its line of horizontal directional drills, pumps and fluid cleaning systems for complex infrastructure projects.
Michael Byrne Mfg. acquires assets from American Augers
Mansfield, Ohio-based Michael Byrne Mfg., a manufacturer of horizontal auger boring machines and related equipment, has acquired the auger boring product line and related assets from American Augers, a division of The Toro Company.
LEGEND acquires plant previously operated by Corplex
LEGEND announced the acquisition of the extrusion plant in Romeoville, Illinois, previously operated by Corplex. Effective in August, the plant will operate under the name LEGEND USA. The facility will continue to serve Corplex’s packaging customers with the same high-quality products while supporting LEGEND’s expanding role in the commercial vehicle aftermarket industry. The acquisition reinforces LEGEND’s commitment to vertical integration, supply chain resilience and U.S.-based growth. LEGEND’s headquarters will remain in Tillsonburg, Ontario.
