The hydraulic detachable gooseneck with oilfield beavertail trailer from Felling Trailers

The hydraulic detachable gooseneck with oilfield beavertail trailer from Felling Trailers enables contractors to load equipment from both the front and rear. The detachable gooseneck allows for front loading, while exhausting the air-ride suspension and blocking the beavertail enables the trailer to be loaded from the rear.

“You can run a piece of equipment like a tracked excavator up the back end of the trailer without using any ramps,” says Nathan Uphus, sales representative with Felling Trailers. “You just drop the air suspension, block the beavertail and run the equipment up the back end.”

Uphus says the rear-load option is especially useful when it’s not possible to detach the neck of the trailer. “And rear loading, in some cases, is quicker.”

The 53-foot trailer is designed to carry up to 110,000 pounds. Capacities range from 35 to 60 tons with two- to three-axle configurations. In production for approximately a year and a half and sold primarily in Canada, standard features include 10-bolt hub piloted wheels, fully sealed wiring harness, DOT-approved LED lights and 55-inch spread air-ride suspension with dump valve.

Some of the standard features include 10-inch, I-beam crossmembers on 24-inch centers, two 26-inch front fold-over ramps, removable swing-out outriggers, full 2-inch white oak deck with open center, 24 inches tall loaded with 8 inches ground clearance and 102-inch outside diameter width.

Options include 9- and 10-foot widths, various swing clearance gooseneck lengths, multiple kingpin settings, 6-foot boom well in the rear of the main deck, rear air-operated ramps, hydraulic winch, wide-load lights, rear lift axles, pin pockets, various deck to trunnion approach angles, removable or bolt-on wheel covers, gas-powered hydraulic pony motor kit, and flip neck extension to attach a single- or tandem-axle jeep.

The entire trailer (prior to wiring and decking) is steel-grit blasted with two coats of rust-prohibitive primer. Three finish coats of urethane paint are electrostatically applied for added durability. Felling offers several color choices as well as custom color match. 800/245-2809; www.felling.com.
