Rick Rodier, general manager of the Sitework Systems Division of The Toro Company, was named chair of the 2017 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE).

ICUEE is set for Oct. 3-5, 2017, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Rodier will oversee the management committee. Serving as vice chair will be Rick Johnson, CEO of The Charles Machine Works.

Bertha Taking a Break

After passing under the Alaskan Way Viaduct, Seattle’s tunneling machine and its crews took the weekend off, according to the Washington Department of Transportation. The machine has now traveled 1,995 feet — out of its total 9,270-foot journey under downtown Seattle.

Bertha was scheduled to tunnel 385 feet under the viaduct and reached that goal on May 11, but crews continued until they reached a safer place to stop.

The roadway opened to drivers again on May 8.
