The North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) is offering a virtual course April 27-28 about horizontal directional drilling best practices.
The course will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT each day and provide an in-depth overview of HDD looking at six topics:
- Operation and application
- Equipment and materials
- Planning, including surface and geological investigations, utility surveys, bore planning, and regulations and permitting
- Job site safety
- Risk reduction, troubleshooting and mitigation
- Design
Instructors will be Dr. Samuel Ariaratnam, professor and Beavers-Ames chair in Heavy Construction at Arizona State University; Dr. David Bennett, owner and president of Bennett Trenchless Engineers; and Mary Neher, senior project engineer with Bennett Trenchless Engineers. Brian Avon, associate vice president with Carollo Engineers, will moderate.
