An Easy Way to Find and Repair Utility Problems

Finding a water leak is no problem for CST Utilities as they use their fleet of equipment to aid in locating the leak quickly.

“The problem with the water main break is you never know exactly where the water is because water will follow the path of least resistance,” Steve Besse, vice president of operations, says in this video. “Using the equipment that we have, we’re able to pinpoint the exact location of the leak before we perform any excavation work, saving the customer time and money.”

Using equipment like track hoes and directional boring equipment to lateral launch cameras, locating equipment the crew can find the leak and then perform a surgical-approach to the repair using a hydroexavation unit, taking less time and costing less money.

This video takes a look at various job sites CST Utilities handles from a leak repair to new utility installations using various equipment from the Vacall hydroexcavator to a Vermeer directional drill.
