Compact hydrovac trailer fits in tight spots
Problem: Kieran Glennon, the operations manager at Drain Worx Plumbing & Excavating of Surrey, British Columbia, was called to help out a flooded basement at a well-known pancake restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia. He had to run a 70-foot trench for the sewer main down the middle of the restaurant during a temporary shutdown and then vacuum out all the debris.
Solution: Glennon used the company’s Wolverine Hydro Vac trailer from Pacific Tek. The unit is easy to get to any site, is very nimble to get around tight spots, and does not harm fragile landscapes. It can be used to effectively clean catch basins, and small residential waterline repairs and pipe replacement. Drain Worx uses the trailer to dig 3-by-3-foot holes of 24 to 36 feet depth in 45 to 60 minutes, a job which previously used to take two workers about three and one-half hours to complete.
Result: Glannon’s team got the job done in record time to the delight of the restaurant manager. “The Wolverine Hydro Vac Trailer was a beast,” says Glennon. “We use it all the time and it helps our team make money every week. We can get in and out of smaller jobs like the restaurant flood where the big sewer combo trucks are just overkill.” 800-884-5551; www.pacific-tek.com
